We Believe Every Animal Deserves a Chance at Life

RefugePaws was founded out of a simple belief that no animal should suffer without a home. We started small, and we still operate on love, donations, and the dedication of our volunteers.

A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Built on Compassion

RefugePaws is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless and stray animals across the United States. We treat, sterilize, feed, care for, and shelter animals who have nowhere else to go.

Our priority is to help the paralyzed, injured, or critically sick animals, the ones that no shelter or system will take in. We also educate the public about the suffering of neglected and abused animals and advocate for humane treatment of all animals.

Compassion First

Every decision we make is guided by the wellbeing of the animals in our care.

Community Driven

We run entirely on donations and volunteer support from people like you.

No Kill Philosophy

We never euthanize for space. Every animal stays with us as long as needed.

Our mission is to reduce the stray animal population through our spay and neuter program and provide lifelong care for the animals in our shelter.

RefugePaws Mission Statement

How We Help Animals Every Day

From emergency rescue to long-term shelter care. Here is what a typical day at RefugePaws looks like.

Emergency Rescue

We respond to calls across our service area, rescuing injured, paralyzed, and critically ill animals who need immediate intervention.

Medical Treatment

Every rescued animal receives a full veterinary examination, treatment, vaccinations, and spay/neuter surgery before being cleared for adoption.

Permanent Shelter

Animals who cannot survive as strays live in our shelter permanently. We provide food, enrichment, medical care, and love.

Community Education

We run outreach programs in schools and communities to teach compassion toward animals and responsible pet ownership.

Community Feeding Drives

Volunteers conduct regular feeding rounds for stray animals in our community who are not in the shelter but still need consistent nutrition.

Adoption & Fostering

We match rescued animals with screened, loving families. Foster families give animals a temporary home while they await adoption.
